Who we are and what you will see

Vicky
Alan
Vicky Is the owner of Casa Mirita and works as a municipal guide organising tours and liaising with local agents as well as giving advice to tourists. She has a daughter, Diana and lives in a building comprising her own home and that of two separate families who are relatives. Also included in the building is a small pre school or kindergarten which is owned and run by Vicky's sister. Mirita, after whom the homestay is named is a warm and friendly housekeeper. Vicky's Mother also lives in the building in a separate apartment where she breeds guinea pigs (cuy) . This is not an untypical Peruvian household and as you can imagine there is lots to do in terms of enjoying family life.

Alan is a retired education professional from the UK and was one of Vicky's first guests staying at the house for 2 months at the beginning of 2010. He remains a close friend of the family and has assisted them in developing the business.

The living area comprises of 3 separate bedrooms, 2 double with bathrooms attached and one single (possibly double) with a shared bathroom and shower. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is a communal kitchen/dining room where Mirita prepares tasty Peruvian food and where there is always camomile (manzanilla) tea available made from freshly picked and dried herbs. There is another living room where there is use of a computer and wifi access. There is a small garden with herbs and an area to hang washing. Someone comes each day to clean and can wash your clothes for a small charge. The home is situated in a quiet street where children play and local women sit and crochet coloured wool  squares to make blankets. There a a few shops for the essentials and sometimes in the evening people sit in front of the local shop enjoying a quiet beer. Just around the corner there is a restaurant and one of Vicky's friends owns a small workshop for making pottery which you may visit.
